Tracy Hulican’s Birth Story

Hi Ann,

I hope you are well? Sorry for the delay (I’m sure you have heard that a million times!).

I’m going to keep it as short as possible for you, 1st off Jackson was born at 7am on 5th October weighing 6lb2oz. Perfectly healthy and unfazed by what had gone before.

I unfortunately had to be induced 3 weeks early due to a sudden spike in blood pressure and the associated health risks to both me and baby. Labour did not go smoothly as my body was obviously not ready that early and after a 33 hour labour medical intervention was needed resulting in a forceps delivery.

I won’t go into details of the many trials and tribulations I encountered but I will say that the breathing and meditation techniques you taught us really did make a huge difference in my ability to keep calm, in control and focused at crucial times. The birthing ball also played a key role in the early stages and is definitely a must for the experience.

Thank you so much for your classes they were a great part of my pregnancy – a little me time goes a long way! – and the knowledge gained during them certainly helped my labour.

Hoping to start some of your regular yoga classes in the new year once we are all settled into this new life!
