It’s Jo Wilkinson from Tuesday night pregnancy yoga. Sorry it’s taken so long to get in touch but just wanted to send you a quick message to let you know baby Alfie arrived safe and sound into the world on 16th October, almost 2 weeks overdue.
Got induced on Thursday at 5pm and by 8pm contractions had started. I managed right through the night with just a tens machine and breathing techniques that we had practised in yoga. I was transferred to labour ward at 1130 the next morning and managed up until an hour before birth on just paracetamol, codeine and gas and air. Unfortunately pain got too much and a small dose of pethadine was needed to get me through the end of labour.
Pregnancy yoga helped me so much in getting my breathing and relaxation techniques right for labour and I am really thankful that I attended your classes. I would also recommend ladies in your class to visit Chris for a lovely pre pregnancy massage, had them weekly leading up to Alfie’s arrival and so worthwhile for all those end of pregnancy aches and pains.
Thanks again and hopefully see you soon when I get a chance to return to yoga classes.
